Any one ever replaced there rear main seal?
 

My friend has a 90's ranger..i think its later 90's...not sure...but his rear main seal is leaking...

has any one ever replaced theirs?

Whats the difficulty on a job like this?

Also they are saying he has to replace the engine oil pan gasket.... and for one of these two jobs they have to remove the engine....

ugh, its a pain. drop the trans, get in there and get-r-done!

yea you have to replace the pan gasket too...you have to drop the pan to replace the rear main...im not sure if the 3.0 uses a 1 or 2 piece rear main seal

i did one on my f150 its time consuming. just gotta drop trans

I know the 95-newer use a 1 piece rear main seal
