PCV valve location on 2.5?

Hey Guys,

As many of you notice, yes, I am the new guy on the board. I've put over 40K on my truck since I have owned it. I take pretty good care of it, motorwise that is. I can't for the life of me find the PCV valve though! Can anyone point me in the right direction? Starting to think it is underneathe the intake, if that is the case, I am just going to take the intake off, and replace the spark plugs while I am at it.

you are correct Twin, the pcv valve is located under the intake at the front of the engine just behind the a/c compressor. if yuo wish to change it with out removing the intake, you should be able to reach it with long reach needlenose pliers, good luck!

Hey Ralphy, thanks for the info. You know, I love my truck, but I HATE the design of the intake on it. The two simple things I want to do are change the plugs and swap out the pcv...hahaha, I said simple! I wish.

One of these days, I will just have to make a project of removing the intake, replace EVERYTHING that I can while I am in there and call it a day.

Your welcome Twin, I owne a 98 ranger 2.5 and I hate to change plugs and wires too! Oh, if you do pull the intake when removeing the EGR don't lose the little gasket! or just remember to replace it.

Ralphy,

Thanks for the advice. I like to think that I am reasonably mechanical, but that truck can just be a pain in the ass :D. So curious, it sounds as if you have removed your intake before, it looks pretty straight forward to me. Is there anything aside from the EGR gasket I need to be aware of? Was considering trying to do a bit of port matching while I had it off.

Have you done any performance upgrades to your 2.5? If so, what have you done?
