96 XL 2.3L inner timing belt cover

How do I get this off? I've got a camshaft position sensor fault, and all I know is that it's on the oil pump behind the cover. Do I even need to pull the cover or am I not seeing something a little more in the open? Thanks to the forum in advance and for past help.

EDIT: I'm learning on the run here. Not too good with terms. Just trying to save some money and keep it out of the shop. It runs horrible and chugs hard at times under load (feels like a mis shift with out my foot on the clutch.) Am I even in the right spot? Already changed the fuel filter.

I'm starting to think this is more of a fuel delivery issue. All my research says the camshaft sensor will cause a power loss, but not the issues I'm experiencing. And it does act up more if I jump in and go. If it runs for a while, it's all good. Tomorrow I'll get fuel pressure checked and see what's up.
