I would like to swap out my bucket seats for a one piece bench seat, is it possible?

Do I need any adapters or is it an easy one for one replacement?

Re: bench seat

why do want to replace buckets in the first place? or do you have the split bench

it all depends on what year and what cab you have. anything is possible with enough time, money, and fabrication. some years will be a simple bolt in, others will not be.

I have a 2000 XLT 6cyl 4x4. I want to put in a bench seat due to a hip replacement. The seat belt attachment cuts into my right side.

still depends on cabs. it won't be a complete bolt in, but a reg cab should be close. ext cab are different. the front two bolts should line up, but then you will have to drill two holes for the back two. you will still have to mount your current seat belts to the seat frame. they have a pretensioner (part of the airbag system) on them. you will have to fabricate a mount for them on the bench seat. all the rangers benches came from had the seat belts mounted directly to the floor. that all stopped in 98 when the belts were mounted to the seats.

here is a 93ish reg cab bench i recovered mounted in a 97 ext cab.

You gave no info in a signature.
It us always possible to modify a bench seat to fit in an early ranger.
I have seen a bench seat that came out of a 63 Ford Falcon that fit perfectly in pre 98 rangers
