New owner from FL
Hi everyone! First I'd like to say that I'm very happy to find this forum. I belong to other forums regarding motorcycles and can't tell how many friends I made and money I saved learning from other members. Sold and bought hundreds of items from members as well. I'm a brand new owner of a 2000 Ranger and tons of mileage!
I'm rebounding from the result of our economy after having to sell my 2005 F-150 Lariat, two bikes and wife's car two years ago... The Ranger is in good condition despite of the high mileage, at the end of the day trucks are driven and around 17K average per year, I do not think is too bad, specially here in Florida where you drive everywhere. The truck is straight with lots of scuffs and scratches, no rust, motor is strong, no leaks and well maintained, air is cold, gear box and clutch seems to be fine as well, 95% of the scratches can be buffed, tail lights are broken, headlights are in bad shape from discoloration, headliner is trash and the seats are really BAD, no more cushion! Lots of work but no car payments... I miss the F-150 and all the luxury but do not miss the car payment and 12 MPG! I'm going to need lots of help from you guys! Stay tuned! Regards to all! H |

Re: New owner from FL
Your truck sounds A LOT like the one I bought just over a month ago. Interior was disgusting but the motor runs strong, even with 157k. So far I've replaced the seats, headliner, carpet (I've got the carpet just need to put it in), tires, etc. etc. Lots of work but I'm with you; I've got the title at the house! Good luck man, most of everything I've needed I've found at the junk yard excluding the carpet and headliner. I've gained a ton of knowledge through this forum as well. Keep us posted!

Re: New owner from FL
You can do the headliner for way cheaper than that if you do it yourself. There is a How To thread on headliners that is very helpful. My wife found a coupon for JoAnn fabric in the Sunday paper and got the material for $15-20 I believe. Took us about 1.5 hour and it was done. Maybe 2 hours, but we were drinking beer so it wasn't too bad! Good luck on the seats. I got lucky and found mine from an 06 Nissan Xterra, $25 a piece. You just have to keep checking junk yards or craigslist.

Re: New owner from FL
Thx for the welcoming guys! I have tons of work to do but I'll be fine at the end. I can feel that I found the right forum. Just bought a pair of headlights from a member here and working on a new cluster with LEDs from another member as well. This week I'll be looking for a set of seats or shop around the upholstery people to fix what I have...
Once again thanks for all PMs and messages! H |
