Rattling sound when driving slow or going over bumps

Hey guys when I go over a speed bump or when I'm driving like 10 MPH I hear a pretty loud rattle that sounds like its coming from the front suspension. Any ideas?

Check the sway bar link bushings. Dont forget to be a little more specific on the ?'s and please make a signature

check your dust shields on the front beake assembly. mine are rusted off and the lil pieces that are left just rattle around when i drive ( only hear at low speed cause the wind noise is gone)

I uploaded a video on youtube of the sound.

----------

this is me shaking the wheel back and forth, listen for the 5 clicks and imagine this noise twice as loud and 3 times as fast.

sounds more like something in the steering is loose. which way were you shaking the wheel, back and forth?

shaking by pushing and pulling at the top of the tire.

check your ball joints

I can't tell any difference during turning or going straight, same noise.

Does anyone know, can the upper ball joint be replaced, or do you have to change the whole control arm?

Re: Rattling sound when driving slow or going over bumps

YOu have to replace the upper arm. I just put the moog ones on my truck. They are greasable and they rock. They arent too expensive

Decent Deal?

Re: Rattling sound when driving slow or going over bumps

I would go on Rockauto.com and buy the Moog ones. That ebay store sells the non greasable ones and alot of times yuo end up with junk with parts like that. You may pay a little more with Rockauto, but its the best stuff for your truck

Re: Rattling sound when driving slow or going over bumps

It was the brake caliper mounting bracket guide pin was frozen, and the pads didn't have anti-rattle clips. Sorry I forgot to update this.
