Center console armrest replacement
 

I was driving along the other day and thought to my self... i want a peice of gum. so i lifted the armrest open the center console and rumaged around for my pack...

unfortunately as i closed the console and the armrest the damned thing snapped off...

now i recently purchased this truck from a ford dealership used so i expected this kinda thing to happen, but for the life of me i can not find a website where i can purchase a replacement.

so if any of you fellow ranger owners could help me out id be much obliged

TL;DR i need a new center console armrest where can i purchase one

What years is it?

depending on which lid you have, rock auto sells a nice, metal replacement piece that will keep them from breaking. but it only works on the shorty console arm rests that have a plastic bottom on it. most of the time, the armrest itself if a molded vinyl. post up a pic of both sides and we'll be able to give you a better idea.

rock auto sells a nice, metal replacement piece? Rock auto? I need one for a 1994 center comsole.

yessir, but ive been doing a little research and that metal bracket runs for 40 bucks... now im not cheap so ill pick it up but i was wondering since the opportunity presented itself if i should do something else... so any suggestions are appreciated

yeah i saw these, and the bracket runs for 40.99, since im already spending money i wanted to know if there is something cool i could do thats not too techincal or expensive

i've used one of those brackets and it's top notch. it's well worth the money. that's the only repair for an arm rest like that that i've ever seen. i guess you could fab something up, but it'll probably come out to be about the same cost.

car stuff sells replacement consoles for around 40 bucks which includes all the hardware.

I ended up breaking mine just lifting it. Problem is the back hinge is right up against a 12" sub box. The stress just snapped the plastic hinge right off. Now the rattling is driving me crazy....ha....driving...;)...
