Hey guys/girls I'm new on the ranger forums just thought I'd introduce myself. Does anyone happen to know much about the explorer 302 swap for the ranger?

Yah, me too . My last Ford was a '75 LTD wagon. Just bought a 600$ 94 6/ 5spd. Its looks to be a push rod engine and the sticker says it is a 4.0. But the kid I bought it from didnt even know that. He claimed to have had the engine replaced. It was a Craigslist buy, so I wasnt expecting much. Engine looks quite at home to me though. Once I figured out how to open the hood, to jump the dead battery It started easily and drove quiet. The clutch is shot . the exhaust is shot. Other than that it goes pretty darn good. The engagement is right at the top of the pedal. But the 235R 75 15 s are new Bridgestones and the truck drives well enough and stops without drama. Has a whiny PS pump,but it is down on fluid. I intend to fix it up well enough to make dumptrips and beach runs etc.
