AC Bogs Down Engine

My 94 Ranger 2.3L runs fine when the AC is OFF. However, when I turn the AC switch to ON, the engine bogs down and runs rough. At idle, it feels like it is going to stall. At cruising speed, it feels like it is missing. The fuel pressure checks good (38 psi KOEO; 31 psi ER). There were no trouble codes stored in the EEC. Any ideas?

the AC pulls more power from the engine. and the lil 4cyl motors dont have much power to spare from just trying to run. honestly i wouldnt worry about it. when i turn my AC on you can hear my 4.0l drop in RPM turning the compressor
