For those of u who run on 89 octane

First off, this isnt a thread about what octane is best, I know OEm recommends 87, but the other day at petro Canada, 89 octane was the same price as 87 octane (bonus!) so i thought i would try. Anyways, now I am noticing that i am idling at 750 RPM (even with the Ac compressor running) instead of the 900-1,000 RPM that I am usually idling at. The engine runs fine, just notcied this small difference, just wondering if any of you have noticed this lol

i run 93-94 octane. i have a 4.0 it idles about 400rpm and there is a slight difference in performance, mostly higher rpm and better mpg. its well worth the extra cost! especially since gas here is around 3.45 for regular and i go right across the bridge to nj and get premium for 3.40 ahah

I get pinging on hills with 87. It is just about gone with 89. I just occasionally hear a little ping.

If you were idling at 900-1000 rpm before, something was already wrong to begin with.
