Re: ranger 35 wheeles

Like for one the 3.0 and 4.0? no offence but thats just crazy to think theres a not much of a difference. I have a 2.9, Theres no way in hell I'd put 35's on my truck. If you want to do all that get a bigger ranger or a bigger truck. By the way trucks are not meant for racing, Now I wonder what your trying to accomplish by lifting your truck and putting big tires on it, when It seems you and your buddy with the lifted 4.0 race. Probally the reason why you come neck and neck, is because he has a lifted truck, and you well probally have a stalk truck. |
Re: ranger 35 wheeles
Dont believe me? Heres the HP and Torque of both the 3.0 and 4.0
3.0L HP-154@5200RPM Trq-180@3900RPM 4.0L HP-207@5250RPM Trq-238@3000RPM Thats based off a 2003 3.0 and 4.0 Engine |
Re: ranger 35 wheeles
3.0 will be okay since you don't go offroad. You have about 53 hp less than the 4.0 and 58 less lb ft torque. Changing the gears will help but it's not a must. You can run 35's with the 6" S/L and the 3" B/L. You're going loose a lot gas mileage and HP but will gain a good portion back with the Superchips Tuner and throttle body spacer, maybe a intake couldn't hurt either. Anyone who lifts a truck can expect not to get as good of gas mileage as stock. I've had my 35's on my truck since Nov last year and run the stock 4:10 gears and have no issues with the tranny. Go for it Bro!!
