How To: Put L.E.D. strips in your cab
Materials needed:
12inch LED strips, i got mine at kragen for like 15 bucks. Wiring tools, stripper (a wire stripper, not a real stripper, but thatd be cool if you had one of those handy.), and some wire connectors. some small sockets and screwdrivers. One self tapping screw. Installation: First take your LED strips and test fit them under the dash. I put the full 12 inches of one on the passenger side under the glove box, but on the drivers side i only found room for like 6-8 inches. So cut the drivers side strip to fit. Then distinguish which wire is the ground and which is the power. Get ready to wire them in. Remove the plate beneath the ashtray/airbag switch, its held on by 2 small bolts. Run both wires through there from the passenger side strip. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCF2217.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCF2218.jpg Place the wires inside this plate and screw it back into place. Remove the knee plate beneath the steering columb. Put the drivers side strip into place on it. Run both sets of wires up to the panel under the headlight switch. Replace the panel with the wires underneath. Now comes the wiring. Find the black/pink wire from the dome light/guage dimmer switch. If the colors arent the same for different years, (mines an 04), locate the wire that when the switch is pushed up, turns on the dome light. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCF2213.jpg Cut it and strip it, then connect the power wires from each strip into it. Reconnect everything. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCF2214.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCF2212.jpg Find your ground wires from the LED strips, and put those under a self-tapper in the metal. The ground for my Hella switch was already there, so i used it. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCF2215.jpg Clean up and admire your work! When the switch is pushed up, the lights will come on, along with the dome light. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCF2220.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCF2219.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...tos%201/66.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...tos%201/65.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...20111945b1.jpg |

I put a whole strip on my driver side and when I gotta pop my hood I reach my fat finger around and pull it down a little to open it, and I like the under the seat idea I might borrow that :D
