Someone without a ranger
 

Hey,

I do not have a Ranger just yet. I have been reading here and found that I was getting kind of annoyed by the "sign up NOW!!!" message at the top of every single thread. So I signed up hoping it would disappear. Nopers, it was replaced by a bigger message telling me I needed to learn to post. And lots of emails from the forum. Oh well, that is life. I have signed up now and I can even see pictures that are attached, not just linked. So it is okay.



I am trying to talk a guy I work with into selling me his 1989 Ranger. He wants $500 bucks for it, so I am all about it. It is a 5spd, 4cyl, 2wd truck. I am driving a '04 Jeep with a long arm and 35's. It gets bad gas mileage and I am driving 70+ miles a day.

Over the last 2 weeks I have been reading on here I have discovered my first couple mods.

1) Doors are going to be made to be removable.
2) Gonna get a sweet cherry Pyle in dash dvd player
3) Swap out the bench seat for some killer Exploder buckets

That is it for the first week

Eventually I plan to go truggy, with a little mildly built 302. But that is a good number of years down the road.

Well, I have a Ranger now. This truck is uglier than sin. She has some wicked bad faded paint, she is sporting rust like nobody's business. The previous previous owner put in a cd player and didnt hook up the antenna. That needs doing, the gas and temp gauge are not working. The driver seat is sagging like $2 hookers front parts. The AC knob is broken. Lots of little things, but a $700 truck with only 125k on it. It is the 2.3l 4banger, and a 5spd. She will get removable doors, green flames, and a dvd player in the dash.

Considering the amount of salt we get for when they call for snow, the thing is in decent shape. It will get the job done. Gonna throw some historic tags on it tomorrow I hope so I can start rollin' in it tuesday.
