Airbag light is burnout would that cause an alarm to go off?

I have one cluster light burn out. But I also know that the airbag light does not come on at start up. And there's beeps 5 times every 5 seconds for about a minute.

I have read that this could be because of my airbag light is burn out.
Is that true?

Yes. I don't know if that is how it alerts you. But the airbag light and the passenger airbag light are both supervised circuits and it will get pissed off if either are out.

I had a taurus that did that every start up and every 45 minutes. I don't think it would do this if you simply had a burned out bulb. This is usually indicative of an issue with the airbag itself.

Maybe someone else can chime in with more detail but it seems strange that a bulb would cause that.

if the bulb is burnt out in the cluster, there is an audible beeping sound that alerts the code. you can count the beeps just like you can count the times the light flashes to get the codes. replace the bulb and the beeping should stop.

I JUST put in a new airbag light, like a week ago.

It stopped the beeping, thankfully

Yeah, for real.

I don't have 4x4, so I just took a bulb from a 4x4 light hole, lol.

Mine was burned out so we replaced it with an LED, that way it solves the problem for the for seeable life of the truck.

Well replace the bulb. And at start up it flashes two times and then seven times, and repeat until it stay on all the time.

So that's... why it burn out.

Are you taking about where you use the key to turn off the passenger airbag?
