Hood lift cylinders
 
I have an 08 Ranger. Has anyone tried to install lift cyliders inseat of using the prop rod ?

What are the length ext. and colapsed? I might head down to the topper shop and buy some, I like it!

I used a Volvo 850 rear trunk struts(sedan), UBER stiff and good length
Even if only 1 is on it'll open no problem

I was actually thinking of fabbing up a pair of these the other day from a set of rear hatch cylenders I had lying around. Make the mounts out of aluminum. It would be cleanly done of course.

Thats what I was gonna use although they're from a Bronco II...See how cheap we are? No way was I gonna spend $80 on those things lol

I don't think explorer ones would work. I was looking at my father in laws explorer. The way they mount is why I don't think it would work.

I've had my QuickLifts on for like 4 years now--absolutely love them.
