what causes a ford ranger (94) to idle ruff?
 
not much more to add, drives well just idles ruff. any ideas? quick fixes?

I have an 86 Ranger and when the throttle positioning sensor went out that's what it was doing. Almost like it was running out of gas. I'm not a mechanic, so you might want to wait for someone elses opinion...lol!

if it is idling high or idling high then low then high then low i would say it is a vacuum leak and you can find it by letting it idle and take a propane torch and twist the valve but dont light it, then running it around near your intake and when the idle revs up you found yuour leak.
