Is it a hard to install a new head unit in a newer (05) ranger with factory sub?

I have a 05 ranger fx4 level 2 with a factory sub in the consul. Am I lookin to run into problems installing an alpine (I think) head unit?
I'm wanting to swap my dads unit with my factory one with his 2000 excursion with a 8 month old unit. Assuming the adapter plugs I need will be in his truck. Just worried about the amp

I highly doubt it when I put a system in my buddies type r spec v he had a stock sub in the trunk and I put a jvc head unit and I didn't have any problem! there hard wired into the cars system just as long as u buy the right adapter at wally word you should b good to go man

Hit up 05RangerEdge. He just put in a headunit in his truck not too long ago and he has the factory sub.

With the proper wire adaptor, everything stays lined in
