Factory alarm goes off when wind blows.

If the doors are locked with the remote, or the door lock button and a wing gust hits the Ranger the alarm will go off. If you just push down the lock stem thing on top of the door panel it doesn't happen.

I don't know what kind of theft alarm they came with from the factory. Seems awfully sensitive, though. Any way to adjust sensitivity, or disable it? Not much chance of it being stolen. I keep it locked. Most vehicles around here are left unlocked 24/7, most with keys in the ignition, making for many easier targets than mine.

It does not have an aftermarket alarm.

The alarm will go off if the door is opened while it is set. so could it be the the door ajar switch problem.

Yes they did offer the ranger with factory alarm. Its just like every other factory alarm system. Its not like a Viper alarm. It sounds the horn when it goes off. And it will only go off if a door is opened without using a key or key fob.

My friends 96 did that, the door switch is at fault here, on newer ones its inside the latch, on older ones you can see in in the door, you can either replace it or spray some wd40 on it.

Thanks guys, I will try the WD-40 first and see what happens.
