General Photography discussion

Hey everyone. Im looking into getting a new DSLR camera that is a descent quality camera. I found this one and it looks pretty good:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...691&CatId=3631
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16830113296

If you know alot about cameras and photography and what not, tell me what you think about them. id like to keep the budget under $600. any input, comments or suggestions on other products would be great. Thanks.

I haven't used a Sony product. But their not bad. I own a Nikon D3000 and a Canon Rebel xt eos 350 I love em both. If you want a inexpensive camera and easy to learn off of I say get the D3000. You can get the camera body lens bag and 2 gig memory card for about 600.00

I like this combo
http://www.adorama.com/INKD3000R.html
with something like this
http://www.adorama.com/NK18105VRWB.html#ProductReviews

A Nikon body gives you the ability to use what may be the best lenses available.
DO NOT skimp on a lens. If you look at the world through cheap, dirty distorted glasses, you will never see the real colors or detail of the world.
I spent far more money on my Nikon Nikkor lens than my camera body.

Please don't buy a camera from an electronics company.
Buy a camera from a camera company - Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax, etc.

^^ Ditto! ^^
Good prices as well from Adorama.

I purchased most of my photo equipment from B&H Photo Video.

Samsung NX10 / Pentax same crap K-mount . Not many lenses to choose from . Nikon yes , Canon yes , Sony yes (uses the Minolta mount as well ) . Make sure you get something with a good quality cmos chip . I use the Sony A300 . Have a few more SLR features then the newer Sonys and Canons and Nikons do . There removing alot of things now making the DSLR more simlper to use I hate them , I feel naked with them ,lol . Don't rush into a mistake research . Oh and heres a question WTF is an entry lvl DSLR ? exept for price they all work the same way Dah !

Always shoot in RAW mode so you can develop your self (You cant develop a JPEG) .

Nikon, Canon, Sony are all good cameras. All have their pluses.

I choose Nikon because it seems the most user friendly to me.

Canon has a huge selection of lenses.

Nikon has better build quality & some great lenses.

Sony hasn't been in the DSLR market very long by comparison. But makes a quality product with limited lens choices.

Of course this is just my opinion.

You can learn on a 3000 dollar camera too ! They still work the same way right ?

Ive seen guys come into my shop with the most expensive tools and Snap-On box's loaded with dream tools and I wouldn't let them touch a second car .

Basically it comes down to this. Its the person behind the camera , not the camera that will get you the pics and quality you want. Argue that !

Eventually I'm getting my Nikon fixed. Just haven't had the money. I like Nikon better than Canon. But nothings wrong with Canon. I just prefer Nikon. NIkon seems to have more features than Canon.

Of course this is just my opinion.

There is alot of lenses for the Sony , They bought Minolta and use there alpha mount so you can also use there lenses, Sony also uses carl zeiss glass . And Minolta has been on the market for decades .

When u mix sony with a minolta lense you get some major quality the sony really shines .

Thats why my next camera will be a Cannon !
