Re: restoring headlights?
off topic but your truck is sexy. Bump for ya.

Re: restoring headlights?
I would get the crystal clear headlights instead of spending time to clean these. But if you would rather clean them ten they should bake apart just like the newer headlights
|
Re: restoring headlights?
yup ill just clean them until i get like an 06' front clip, thanks diablo!

Re: restoring headlights?
wax and by hand will work fine

Re: restoring headlights?
Call me crazy, but it works
Items needed: Toothpaste, soft rag, windex, tooth brush, car wax (optional) 1: Smear toothpaste on the lens and rub it in with the toothbrush 2: Wipe off with soft rag 3: Spray lens with qindex 4: Repeat step 1 5: Wipe off with soft rag 6: Use normal car wax on the lens (step is optional) There have been a couple lenses that this won't work on, but most cars this works for (including my truck) |

Re: restoring headlights?
Ive used restoring pads on faded lights before (cant remember the brand) but they did clear them up a little bit. But they didnt look like new, they were still faded and a i did it a couple of times and they never got any better. Thats my experience atleast

Re: restoring headlights?
ok here are the results from the little headlight cleaning. Went pretty smooth just someone had already taken them apart once and it made it a pain in the neck to try and cut through all the gasket maker they put on there. other then that you be the judge.

Re: restoring headlights?
yeah, mine were terrrrible. they felt like chalk to the touch.
wow those look way better! |
Re: restoring headlights?
yes it did improve a lot, then again there was a lot of room to improve upon, so the sanding method worked for your, lets say sunbeat, headlights?
|
Re: restoring headlights?
wow! that turned out great.. im still deciding between restoring or buying new ones
|
Re: restoring headlights?
Quote:
just soaked the sandpaper in water for like 20-30 mins, and went at it. if your insides are messed up, well, im not sure what to do about that. |
