Rolling, Folding, or Retractable Tonneau Cover?
Right now I have a snap Tonneau cover that came with the truck when I bought it. I don't like it. I am looking to replace it, but am not sure what kind to get.
I know I don't want a hinged one because I need something that will be easy to open so my dogs can ride in the back when I want them too. I don't haul much, other than my dogs, so I don't need anything that will accommodate a toolbox or anything like that. Anyone have any preferences: Folding, Rolling, or Retractable? Which will last longer, are nicer looking, and are easy to work with? Are there any pros and cons to consider with each style? |
Re: Rolling, Folding, or Retractable Tonneau Cover?
My whole family has owned trifolding tonneaus for many years and have been excellent. I have one on my ranger and its great, it folds so it doesn't take a lot of room, its light, easy to store and its tough as nails, easy to survive the coldest snaps of cold canada has to offer.

I regret not having opted for the hard plastic folding cover.
So that's the one i'd suggest, but it's not cheap. Plus the dogs won't rip it to shreds. |

regardless of how i had the dogs they still wouldnt be a way for them to escape or escape injury unless you have a genius idea...
truck box...hmm nope cable...hmm nope dog seat belt....hmm nope god forbid i flip my truck over and kill my dogs :( but the cables were carefully measured with the dogs in the truck and it is impossible for them to go over the side even if they tried and most of the connections ahev two cable connectors on each end the ones that dont will be added in the spring |

Lol,
Id go for the roll up, its probably the cheapest, and it works, i remember the roll up on my fathers was pretty tough untill being all worn out from weather, and that was about 7 years of sun, snow and ice |
