1985 Antique Ranger Video Have a look? What Ya Think so far?.

Hi-Ya everyone!... My Son and I made a short video of the engine running and a pull away... I actaully made it to send to the previous owner as he did ask for up dates on the truck when I got it from him. I thought I would also include it here as several of you guys did ask for up dates also.

I used it for a while today to take it to the dealership and try to find out the real color code. And to check for any more oil leaks. Seems the color could be one of two. I was hoping the last owner could give me a clue as to what the color code is when the paint shop he took it painted it.

I am also happy to say there seems to be no more oil leaks. Below, is the link where the video is. Comments?.

for the love of God, stop calling it an antique Ranger. we get it, it's old. but not an Antique. antiques are priceless items that are hard to find and are of high value and are over 75 years old.
for example: a 1927 Model T is an "antique"
a 1985 Ranger is Not.

TECHNICALLY its 25 years or older so as of 2010 it is considered was antique lol

a model t would be a "classic". I'm going by the info from the dmv

aside that, if i was the camera guy i'd probably punch you. That damn buzzing would of pissed me off

that sounds pretty backasswards... typical dmv :p. I would have the 25& olders be classics, and the ancient stuff antique, but whatever haha. the bureaucracy wins.

in california the really old stuff gets 'historical vehicle' license plates, and the stuff from decades past get nothing

END QUOTE # 1:

Thanks. Yes. I prefer Antique Ranger. it's not ordinary because of it condition. Plus the Department of Motor vehicles also reconizes it as "Historic"

Definition of HISTORIC
: historical: as
a : famous or important in history <historic battlefields>
b : having great and lasting importance <a historic occasion>
c : known or established in the past <historic interest rates>
d : dating from or preserved from a past time or culture <historic buildings> <historic artifacts>

END QUOTE #2:
The door was left open that's the buzzer to tell you the door is open. My son asked the same thing LOL.

You guys are a riot!.. I love it here. It's so nice to be accepted among my fellow Ranger Owners...

QUOTE #3
I will most certanly let you get first shot at it.
END QUOTE #3

Actaully I inquirered about "Classic" but the DMV said I could not get them because it's 25 years old. I would have to get "Historic", I could however, get "Regular" plates and use it everyday. Go figure huh?.

Well said. If you ignore the occasional rocket scientists who seem to have nothing else to do but monitor the forum for a place to pounce on someone who makes a statement they dont understand or like, this forum rocks. Enjoy your antique, you have my vote. I suggest you keep the 85 as original as possible. GOOD LUCK AND WELCOME!

Thank you. Oh yes, All original as possible. Thats why I was showing the idiot lights working. The aftermarket gauge cluster was removed and the lights were re-connected. The fuel gauge was a challenge, That was a difficult task.

Thanks

I desided to include the following:. These pictures I made for framing in the bed of my Antique Ranger for display when it's ready for car shows. This will give you guys a better feel of "How Old 1985 really is"... Hope this helps....

all you people defending him can go join the FMD club.

having an old truck doesn't make it an antique.
just as having a long beard doesn't make you ZZ Top.

Not defending him. You just posted wrong information.
The others it seems are defending him though
