Sarcasm Font Color?
 

There is an incredible amount of sarcasm on this site - it don't bother me none.
It would be easier to spot and try to interpret if it could be color coded or set in a different font - maybe?
Maybe a balloon like a comic strip...
I dunno, it is often written as if it is real advice, and yes, I have been hooked by it.

How is the forum gonna automatically recognize sarcasm?

People would have to do it themselves, and I don't see the point of it. 99.8% of the time you can spot the sarcasm.

It's just a thought - cut and paste into a balloon?
Someone asked about breaking in an engine. We get a reference to an article that says change the oil after 20 miles and then we get a post about never changing the oil at all.
What is the new guy supposed to do with that? Maybe just leave and never come back because of all the worthless smartass answers to an honest question?
We all had to learn at some point.

while you do have a point, i think it would be hard to even remember or realize when i use sarcasm... but if you cant figure out within reason how often to change your oil, you shouldnt be looking to do it yourself. and if its a break in thing, then it should come with instructions. anyone who believes in everything they read on the iterwebs is destined to fail. just my .02

Sorry I just had to, LOL. Nothing personal but if you can't figure out what a good answer is and smartass amswer is then you need to be asking questions to a mechanic and not the internet. There is a ton of good info on here but that in no way should be takin as the correct info 100% of the time. We have ALOT of good members on here that usually nip a bad answer in the butt before the OP takes it seriously anyway. Ideas to make the forum better are always appreciated but I don't see this being a practical idea. In a perfect world we would have no sarcasm, but whats the fun it that ;)

or just use bold or italic font. or you could always underline it too. all those functions are already built into the forum.

a) is sarcastic, but
b) is also important, and
c) needs to be stressed
