Yokohama Geolander M/T +
I've been searching for new tires to get. I called my local Tire Discounters and they are having a sale right now on Yokohama Geolander's. I was just wondering if anyone on here has them or used them. I searched but the thread involving them was from 09 so I figured I'd start a new one. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Re: Yokohama Geolander M/T +
They are made in America, but the guy recommended them to me since they were on sale he knows I'm looking for a nice beefy tire

Re: Yokohama Geolander M/T +
my cousin had them on his 1500 dodge, they seemed alright, on ice they suck but in the mud they seem to be really good

Re: Yokohama Geolander M/T +
They are beefy, what i meant by knobby lol
how much does he want for 4? |
Re: Yokohama Geolander M/T +
He quoted me like $883 for a set of 4. Which is like $220 a tire but I can probably work him down to like $200 since I'm gonna be buying a full-size spare. And rims also from there.

Re: Yokohama Geolander M/T +
Buddy of mine has them on his Dodge 1500. AWSOME tire wears well and goes through mud like a Super Swamper. Mildly lound on the highway though

Thanks for your imput guys.
Bump to see if anyone else has anything to add. :) |
Re: Yokohama Geolander M/T +
yoko's are excellent tires. they perform great in whatever you throw at them.. BUT they have a downside.
They're soft compound rubber, meaning they will wear a little faster than others. If your alignment isn't true, they will cup and make a shitton of noise faster than any other hard compound tire. That being said, they're amazing tires and will last a good while as long as you rotate and balance them regularly. |

I have heard nothing but good about the General Grabber AT2s. actually considering them after the BFGs go
http://www.offroaders.com/tech/AT-MT...abber-AT-2.htm http://www.offroaders.com/tech/AT-MT...AT-Section.jpg They are "almost" identical to the BFG. I think the side walls are 2 ply versus BFGs 3-ply. but if you are not doing any rock crawling, it doesnt matter. http://www.offroaders.com/tech/AT-MT...rabber-at2.jpg |

Re: Yokohama Geolander M/T +
Haha, agreed. The place I'm looking at has free inflation, rotation, and all that when you buy 2 or more tires.
