Potential Spare tire problems...?
I am planning on getting 31s or 32 inch tires...and i want to keep my spare tire under the bed as it should be...will i be able to?

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
I don't think you will be able to.
I don't know about newer trucks but my '96, I could not even fit a 30/9.50 under it. |
Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
Since you didn't specify I'm going to assume your question is pertaining to having a 32" spare...
Answers vary. Some will say they have done it, some will say they have tried and failed. If I were you, I would take a 32" tire, or ask the shop you're buying from to borrow one, and try and see how it fits. |
Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
I have a 33" tire under my bed. It doesnt fit perfectly in the frame rails but it still fits under the truck.

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
I've got a brand new 31" full size spare under mine. Fits perfect.

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
32" won't fit if you have a hitch... at least mine doesn't anyways.

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
he has a hitch. my advice is to keep the best one of the tires you already have, put it on a rim and keep it as a spare.

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
yeah if it was me i would get like the largest tire that i could squeeze in there, it will be big enough to run you home, then you can get your normal tire fixed and throw it back under.

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
my 32" did not fit because of my hitch

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
yeah thats my problem, my round tube hitch already touches the tire and ben...good idea i hope it doesnt cause too many pull problems when driving on the freeway!

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
ha i would say well how often do you really use your spare... but with your luck lol idk.

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
baaaahahahahaha you need to get a plug kit then you can fix them yourself. its really easy to do and a plug kit that will cost like 5-10 bucks will plug like 10 holes.

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
i wonder if deeper treads make a difference? assuming they have thicker walls on the tread and side??/

Re: Potential Spare tire problems...?
this is very true, and being aware of where you are, warehouses and things like that have a lot of nails, and being close to camp sites and things like that, ummmmm but yeah tires can help.
