4x4 works then slowly goes out

99 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 Automatic. The 4x4 is vaccum and when i looked at it before front driveshaft was spinning the front axel but wheels werent. So i took the left front wheel vac hose off and put on some fuel line and was abel to suck it in on my own. So that tells me there may be a leak in the hose i hope. It worked good for a day then slowly started to get worse. It would go in and work then just go out and go back into 2wd. Now doesnt work at all. Any body got any suggestions? How bout diameter of the vac lines.? They run from driver side wheel to a little box under the air box.

That's a little disturbing that you can suck-shift your 4wd... lol

I'm not too familiar with those since I've only owned manual hubs or CV joints. If nothing else vacuum operated is malfunctioning, could you just replace the vacuum lines and call it a day?
