04 zx6rr Burnout tire pop
 

It's winter and cold and I've spent too much time fixing things at -30 so figured I'd share from a warmer day last summer.

This summer they had a biker appreciation day where they had a burn out contest... The tire was an AMA spec tire that I paid a good money for and it was loosing grip and shagged bad on the sides after only 10minutes that's $25 a minute :mad: It was new in the center and I hated it so much I wanted it to die a painful death :mad2:

I was spinning in 6th near redline at +150mph... they stopped me at one point because they heard a ticking noise... Tire has kevlar cords not steel. It was just a cords breaking off the tire smacking and bending my license plate. Restarted and popped the tire... wish someone would have took a pic from further back the smoke cloud was the size of a football field


My wife was awesome I told here I was going to pop the tire and she came with my truck so I could get the bike home. Here's the tire after burnout in my truck to go home.

A friend pulled on the tire and it folded open completely

Jk sick shit! Someone on my R6 forum posted a vid of them lighting up their tire. In the end it popped and he cords FUCKED up his lower tail and wrapped around the swing arm and rim and it was a mess. Looks like a fairly easy clean up for you though

Yeah I won prize was free installation of a new tire... when they found out I install my own tires at home they found me a prize pack with some bike stuff :)
A burn out mine included makes a huge mess... lots of clean up needed. The cords cut my hugger in half, whipped the paint off my plate and bent it pretty good.

Nope but the fun was :D Plus it's just bunch of work in the garage which is fun too :)
