Hi, Name is Bob, I am 32 and I have a 1990 Ford Ranger XLT regular cab short wheelbase. The poor old girl has been used and abused, but I am slowly bringing her back to life. Originally she came with a 2.3L 4-banger, but she now has a 2.9L V-6, 5-speed. She was bought new by a highway-patrolman and when the motor died, he didn't want to invest anything more into her. My father worked at the shop she was left at and when the shop van died, he recommended they put another motor in the Ranger. She has well over 400k miles on her, but not all on this motor, lol. Her paint is fading and her bed rails are dented badly, but somehow I can still see the beauty in her. When my father retired, the shop owner gave him the truck. I was driving a 1975 Ford F-100 with a 351 W that was getting roughly 8 mpg on the highway. He wanted a full-size and I wanted to have enough money to take my girlfriend out after I got paid, so a trade was made, lol.

I rebuilt the entire front suspension summer of 2010. While I was down there, I replaced the front brake system and the power steering system. This summer is going to be all about the rear end and some electrical work. I put a Pioneer deck in and had to replace the plastic rear speaker boxes as they where damaged. I put in a new radiator,thermostat and water pump. This old girl has refused to let me down, always starting and getting me home.

My ultimate goal is to put my old 302 into her (after it has been rebuilt) and would love to put a 6-speed trans behind it, but will probably go for the 5-speed. I want to put a black grille in and clear headlights. Give her a gunmetal grey paint-job and black rims. I also have a 9-inch rear axle I am sitting on, just for her, lol.
