Check Engine Light

Alright so yesterday I was working on my truck alongside my brother and I asked him to take off the negative battery terminal. BUT instead he decided to take off the Positive and while he was doing it I had the door open and the light was flickering on and off. After he got it back on I showed him the right one to take off, but right when I started it the Check Engine Light came on. What could be the problem? Could it just be some blown fuses?

Check engine light wont come on for a fuse

If you can get it to autozone have them pull the code to tell what it is

It runs fine. What could be the problem? All I did was flush the radiator by taking off the bottom hose cause the plastic nut that your supposed to turn to drain it was broken off.

Did u fill it back up enough?

Only way to find out what code the CEL is throwing is to have someone read it with a scanner autozone does it for free

Bear 09-11-2009 03:57 AM

Yeah I filled it back up With like 3 gallons.

It's the IAT Sensor And Circut High Input.

I have NO clue what that is. Haha

STL 09-11-2009 03:11 PM

IAT = Intake Air temperature

I'm guessing it was the P0113 code Intake air temp circuit high

The Intake Air Temperature sensor is part of the MAF assembly bolted to the air filter housing.

Oh. Well I cleaned that whole area cause I figured that was what it was and reset the computer and the check engine light went away

Glad to hear you got it taken care of. Now I don't need to suggest putting a little piece of electrical tape over the light.

Bear 09-11-2009 06:14 PM

Haha. That's basically what I was gonna have to do. I can't afford to fix anything now ): those mods will be wayyyy later on.

LOL I've done it before....
