Interior colors for carpetand seats
 

Can anyone direct me to a pplace that I can find the color of my 86 xlt interior. I know the exterior color but I need to know what color the seats and carpet are. Exterior is Med. Canyon Red . Interior is based on that. Maroon,wine ,burgundy or ????. any help appreciated. thanks

I have checked there. a friend of mine owns a Ford dealership and he couldnt find anything. He has contacted Atlanta offices to see if they can come up with something. I am thinking the color is burgundy due to the outside color is so dark. Definitely not Red. Could be wine ,or maroon. I am getting my bucket seats covered and I dont want them to be the wrong color. the guy doing the work has to order the fabric and once that happens if its wrong I am out of luck.

OK, the guy recovering them doesnt have any swatches to compare with your interior before ordering?

No unfortunately. If he has a name/number he can order the Ford color so he says . If not its generic. I asked him to get a sample. But I dont know if he has that yet. the interior colors are very close to the exterior. Just a bit brighter. Its burgundy or maroon.

we have detroit books that have all the factory colors in them. cloth, vinyl, leather, headliner etc. all the way back to the 70s. not all materials are available anymore. i would consider going elsewhere if he can't get a sample first. i do upholstery for a living, plus do some work out of my garage, and i have a ton of sample cards.

Try Dark Red. I believe that is the color name. If I remember correctly.

i don't have them here. they are at the shop. and without a piece of the original, it's hard to tell which is ranger. it's broken up by year, and then makes. so one page is all the ford vinyls from 86. rangers, 150s, mustang, etc.
