4 wheel drive wont lock in
 

I press the button the light comes on but the transfer case does not go in gear,
I get a loud bang at a random interval as I go down the road I can put it in low range it goes in low range but I still get the bangging sound but the front wheels are still not ingauged!!!!!!!
