NJ/PA/Anybody else Meet and Greet 1/29/11
 

I'm putting a meet together for January in Jackson, NJ. Well be meeting up in the big field at Collier's Mills (see link below) - which will be good for lifted and lowered trucks unless there's another cubic assload of snow on the ground- then going for food and drinks/whatever else after that.

It's located in the western, central part of NJ, so it's pretty close to PA and good for north and south NJ as well. For those that would like to wheel, we could head back to Collier's Mills after the food and drinks/whatever and hit the trails. It's a state forest and all the trails are legal - as long as it's truly a trail.

I would go but I only go to New Jersey when I absolutely have to.

I have to work man!! Hopefully in the spring we can do the delaware when the snow melts so mud will be in order!!

Damn, Adam... I don't know what parts of New Jersey you've been visiting, but I sometimes work in those areas. They're not fun. Here, the only gun you'd need is for hunting purposes, we're out on the edge of the sticks.

I'd love to go, but unfortinately cant, too much to do this month, but that might change, Im sure i wouldnt be able to hit the trails with you guys, (and i'm pretty sure my parents wouldn't let me go out to meet up with a bunch of guys I met on the internet, sucks being 17). Maybe the next one I'll be able to go, when I got more free time.

I might have to pass on this one, I don't think i'll be done with the motor swap on the 4x4 by the 29th and my 2wd is worthless as far as offroading is concerned, i'll prob attend some wharton meets this summer though

Just to make sure it's clear, the meet is not only for wheeling, but also to meet each other and BS about Rangers, which is why we're getting food and drinks first. On top of that, the trails are not anything very challenging, so 4x4 isn't really necessary.

Pennington is about 45 mins away, it might be worth it just to meet up and hang out for a while.

Maybe I'll come down for food and drinks, I know that area a little bit, used to go to new egypt speedway a lot, I actually drove past your house once, recognized your ranger and your bronco in the driveway

I heard were supposed to get quite a bit Tuesday, but if you remember it can blow over like last weeks 5-7in, where in reality I only got 1 inch.

On the radio today, I heard that Tuesday and Wednesday we may get some snow, but it will be more rain than anything.

Ha, we got 3" over in Jackson. There' is a crapload of snow, ice and water still remaining on the trails. It should be a good time Saturday.

Yea I'm bringing a chain for if I decide to hit the trails. You guys think a stock 2x4 will make it through?
Also I might be bringing a future ranger owning buddy of mine.

A lot depends on how you drive your truck. From your photos, it looks like you've got a road type of tire; it would be best if you were a few trucks in, so that you could go over some of the snow that's previously been packed down.

I made it through everything I tried in 2wd, but I've got all-terrain tires and a limited slip rear. If nothing else, just make sure that the guy in front of you can pull you out if you need it.

Hell yeah. If you have anything heavy you can tie down in the bed like cinder blocks, the extra weight helps too.

Oh dont worry, I've had about 8 cinderblocks back there since the first snow storm. I think ill be good, my rear tires arent exactly stock.

On another note, I dont know how it is by you guys, but its about 38 where I am, everything melting here, I can finally see my own lawn.

it's "warm" today.. tomorrow it's suppose to snow 4-8" now.. starting at 4am turning to rain then back to snow pretty quick.. then ending sometime thursday morning.. A buddy of mine should be coming with me.

I hit the trails last night, there wasn't much water out there, due to the higher temps and the ice melting. Currently we've got about 2 inches of snow built up, so it should be a good time on the trails Saturday after the meet n greet.
