I did 105 mph omg!!!
So I was gonna post in another thread but it got turned upside down, so thought I would start a new one. Not that I want the contradiction to continue, but I felt I would like to give my thoughts on it. I had a ranger in highschool, and in montana, we once had no speed limit on the hwys. It was a rule of thumb that you could drive as fast as you wanted as long as the road conditions and lack of other vehicles, and your vehicle was safe at what speeds you want to go. 102 in a ranger isn't too bad really. I did 105 in my ranger once, bouncing it off the rev limiter on a smooth hwy with no cars infront of me, on a decent down hill slope that plained off to a flat stretch. I did feel a bit unconfortable doing it being it was my first time going that fast while driving. All I know is thats what the govn. was set on my ranger, that was a 92 with the 3.0 vulcun, with a a4ld tranny, and no ac, power steering, and the motor had 40,000 miles on it that where all put on with natural gas. I know that my year ranger was alot lighter than most would be, and sure that helped getting up to that speed. I have on another note gone about 160 mph in a twin turbo dodge viper on a 70mph hwy, and I had a very good grip on the door and arm rest. This was a 2005 and a convertable. Car felt about as safe at that speed as a 2wd ranger does at 105. Personally I don't see there being a problem with someone occasionally taking there car up to fast speeds in the proper conditions, for a short period of time. Anyone that doesn't agree is a liberal/socialist. Guess some people would be proud of that though so go on trying to control others that don't effect your life.

Re: I did 105 mph omg!!!
^what he said.... i've gotten my ranger to 126....(on a closed private road).... rangers arent meant to gothat fast, it was not a good feelin....
for comparision ive been 212 in a pro-stock drag race.. and 165 in a cobra.. speed doesnt bother me, but that truck was floatin shakin and rattlin |
Re: I did 105 mph omg!!!
have fun controlling the ranger when you have a blow out. Your very stupid for doing it and i don't care if i get band for saying that. That is not cool and you can kill not just your self but another person or family. You should really think twice about what you do when it comes to ridiculous speeds especially in a ford ranger.
Looks at this vid i know its not america but thats not the point the point being they were not doing 105MPH and look what happen. speed kills.. you might want to get that threw your head |

Re: I did 105 mph omg!!!
I know it does. I have drove by a few high speed collisions in my time. The point is that I did it in a controlled are, and it wasn't like I was zipping in between cars, and putting others at risk, just like the other guy. He felt good about getting his ranger up and going where he could take it up to a fast speed, and eveyone became typical democrats and rained on his parade. Learn to have an opinion, and stop telling people how to live there lives. Try that for a change. You can have a blow out at 75 and have it go terribly wrong too. To put my demo/lib/socl comment into perspective, most need someone to point out how they sound from time to time to realize thats how they are coming across.

Ford makes a really nice car called the Mustang and there are places called race tracks, you should look those up! But for now please don't be driving like an idiot on a public road where the could be innocent people, and certainly don't come on a public forum and brag about your stupid decisions and expect not to get ragged on for it. |
Re: I did 105 mph omg!!!
my speeding my done alone... i never to anything crazy with anyone in my car/truck.
i had e/t street radial tires so the blow out werent gonna be because of speed and it was "all out" speed event a few local racers did as a fund raiser.. 5 mile road freshly paved and CLOSED due to a bridge being out 2 miles of acceleration to reach your max, and 1 mile to slow down.... medics, fire trucks, etc..at both ends im not an idiot and i know the risks of speeding... i had 3 friend die becuase they hit a pot hole at 90... |
Re: I did 105 mph omg!!!
It's not about telling the dangerous person how to live their life. That's your choice if you want to risk your life. But for God's sake, do it on a fricken track. There are way too many variables, no matter how deserted, on any highway. It may seem empty, but if you needed to react, there's no telling what a Ford Ranger will do at 105 MPH, no matter how experienced you are. If things line up, a car comes, and something happens to go wrong, think about the consequences OTHER PEOPLE on the road face. Think about THEM, not you beating your speed record in an old truck not designed for the stress of high speeds.
I am by no means a democrat. I am very conservative, and I hate Obama. That has NOTHING to do with my opinion on safety and fricken common sense. Sorry if I seem rough but I have lost more than one person I've known to stupid things like this. It's terrible, let me tell you. |

Re: I did 105 mph omg!!!
I'm into drag racing. Thats where you get up to a high speed and then slow it down. When I did it I was on a hill that went into a straight away, so I only went above the normal speed for a very short period and then slowed it back down to 70. I was using tires that have a speed rating of 118mph, so I wonder why they rate them at that speed if you can't drive em at that speed. I don't its a good idea to speed and put others at risk, but I understand if someone want to do so. I won't tell them they are stupid and shouldn't do it unless I know that they are putting people at risk. This is really hard to do when you weren't there, don't know what it was really like. You wouldn't go on a skateboard forum and tell people they should try to do any tricks in a public place, cause they might hurt people or themselves would you, or tell a person on a skydiving forum and tell everyone that they are stupid for jumping out of an airplane. I mean there shoot might not open and what if they landed on someone.

hehe.... once again...screw 105 ---------- im just being an ass to be funny im too old to be screwing around on a busy hwy..... i never said i was doing some fast and furious crap.... just said i went faster than 105 |
Re: I did 105 mph omg!!!
man thats huge!. Sorry fomoco for "this again", I thought people might change there mind on this one if they realized it wasn't like watching americas craziest police chases on tv. I just think its okay to open it up on the hwy once in your life without having someone trying to make you feel bad about it. Sorry again :(
