4x4 blocks
i was wondering how much lift a set of factory 4x4 blocks would give me in the back of a 2 wheel drive truck? i have a set of 3" lift spindles but nothing for the back since i bought the spindles used i was looking for something quick and easy for the back.i'm looking for something i'd have here since i have the truck on the jackstands and only my atv for transpertation right at the moment? thanks ,bill

I think the factory 4wd blocks are the same size as the ones that were in my edge which are like 2.5"
U would be better off with a chevy drop shackle turned around to raise it up and then AAL (add a leaf) This truck has 3" spindle in front drop shackle and AAL http://i396.photobucket.com/albums/p...r_IMG_3875.jpg Chevy drop shackle turned around http://i396.photobucket.com/albums/p...r_IMG_3904.jpg |
thanks stl, if i remember correctly the ranger sits higher in the back for load squating to begain with so i may put the set of blocks in there as a temp setup so i can run down and get the aal & the chevy bracket you sugested. what drop is that Chevy drop shackle ?

2-3" depending where you put the bolt
Summitracing.com Belltech 6400 See on the arm it has different holes to line up with http://static.summitracing.com/globa...e/bel-6400.jpg |
i have my 3" lift spindles in the front and i put a set of the 4x4 blocks in the back as a temp setup. i put it back on my stock wheels and tires. measuring to the top of the wheelwells the back is a half inch lower with the blocks in then the front. would you still go with the chevy spring hanger or would you do the washer under the front coils trick to get that little extra?
next question is how much outof alinement would the spindle lift be? i can't get an alinement till wendnesday anyhow? thanks.. |
Shouldn't be to much out of alignment but wouldn't hurt to check
Raising the rear up is your call if you are happy with the results then leave it be |
i'm sort of happy with the way it sits but that's empty with no cap or normal crap in the bed. maybe i should find the aal for it.and just leave the blocks in there {scratching my head} ? with the weight of the fiberglass cap and my turnout gear/ air bottles i'd guess around 5-6 hundred pounds of crap that i never know when i may need.

I'd go with the AAL. A little rake when empty is okay, and you wouldn't have you ass end sagging with weight in the box. Just my opinion.

AAL and leave the blocks then walk away satisfied.
Didnt know u hauled that much stuff around on a given day |
