Re: ranger backglass

if they are both reg cabs, they should work. if they are both ext cabs, then they should work. if one is a reg cab, and the other ext cab, no way. ext cabs bolt in and sit flush. i think this started from day one, but could be gen 2-current. also, 98+ reg cabs have the same window. 83-97 reg cabs used a roped in gasket and will only work with those year reg cabs.

Re: ranger backglass

it's easy to get a 97 and older reg cab window out. the last time i did mine, i think i did it in 10 minutes. just start in one corner and start pushing the window out from the inside. or, if you have new rubber on the new window, you could always cut the old rubber around the window. it should pretty much fall out then.

to put it back in, use some soapy water around the gasket, drop a 1/4" rope in the track leaving a foot or so at the bottom middle. have a friend hold from outside, set the bottom over the lip first. have him push towards the front and start pulling the rope.
