Sweet Junkyard find
 

I found this brush guard today at the junkyard. They want 40 bucks for it. i measured it and it looks like it will fit my truck. Can anyone else that has one on there truck post some pictures of how its held to the truck? measurements would be great if you have them. It was sitting behind a police tahoe so im assuming it came off the tahoe

Did you measure the distance between the two bottom brackets? It looks like those bolt to the frame, while the top brackets bolt to the bumper or something.

I personally think it may be a little too wide at it's current state. You could always shorten it though.

it was about 30 1/2" on the inside of the brackets and about 31 1/4" on the outside of the brackets

Now did you measure the frame on your truck?

i did but i forgot the numbers. ill go out here in a little bit and measure it.

If they match up, you'll probably be able to leave it as is. But if the brackets are wider than the frame, you're gonna have to cut some sections out of the center of the guard to make it fit.

i found one at the jy once. it was welded to the truck though.

I think it will be to wide for your truck If i remember right the frame rails are 25 is inches apart

ok just measured my truck. its 27" on the inside of the frame and 31" on the outside

if i mount it on the outside of the frame it will work. the guard itself is 64" wide which is how wide my truck is.
