pull the knobs off, then peel the sticker off...just be gentle and take your time

when i did mine, i just popped the 6 little plastic tabs and replaced the entire front panel. there was one alignment tab that had to be cut off, but anyone with some common sense can do it.

Yeah, ya know I tried that with 3 different ones, and all the tabs were opposite of mine...kinda made me mad so that why I resorted to peeling the sticker.

Heres how I did mine...

First start by removing the radio bezel and unbolting the HVAC control and removing the control knobs, then use a small screw driver the loosen the clips holding the stock black gauge overlay onto the white control unit. Also remove the silver overlay from the expo controls in the same fashion.

When your done it should look like this

Now press the silver overlay into the stock ranger controls.

Nice snug fit

http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/v...r/P1050237.jpg

Reinstall the knobs

http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/v...r/P1050236.jpg

Put everything back together and this is what you end up with.

I also installed a set of T5 led to replace the stock bulbs at the same time.

Hey Mike, where did you find those t5 led's?
I think that's what Clinton needs for his HVAC... nothing we've tried has worked (T10 base)

You left out the part where you have to cut out a piece of plastic from the expo faceplate in order for it to fit onto the Ranger housing because the notch on the Ranger housing is in a different location than the one on the expo housing. Its not possible to snap it in all the way around until you do this.

and I used these led's in kool white
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...-x5.htm#photos
very bright and no hot spots!

Maybe if you have the old style heater controls, mine went in with NO cutting what so ever, it fits perfectly inside the controls.

oh and it looks like those bulbs are t10s not t5s so they wont fit in the newer HVACs either.
