01 power mirrors & locks don't work
 

Hey all I sold my trusty old 91 ranger with 170K miles and just picked up an 01 XLT Extra Cab Ranger with just 40K documented miles on it. It has two issues:

1) Pwr door locks will not unlock the doors

2) Pwr mirrors don't work.

I have done some searches here but haven't really found what I am looking for yet, hence this question. It's not a big deal if these issues aren't fixed, but if it is some thing somewhat easy to resolve then I would like to fix them.

Any suggestions where to start?

I'm sure you have checked the fuses- if that isn't the problem then sounds like wires. maybe broken/cut at the door. could be the motor on the mirrors, but I would think the wires first.

My power windos didn't work wen I got it,and beig possibly the MOST anal retentive person inda whurl,I tried eveything untill it dawned on me ,I'm getting power to the back of the plug but still no movy of the mirrors.I removed the little joystick and swapped out with my dads 95 xploder.now mirrors movy .Moral to the story it might be the actual switches.
Have you volt metered the wires on the backside of the switches to see if you're gettin constant 12v?
