Swapping 4.10's to 4.56?

I currently just put a 3" body lift on my truck which already has a 4" suspension lift. I have 4.10 l/s gears and running 31's until i can get 33's. I'm currently getting 12.5-15 mpg.

I'm wondering if i would benefit from swapping them out for 4.56? Its my daily driver and I offroad and also tow a snowmobile trailer bout every other weekend.

4.10 and 33" tires is a popular combo

Sure it isn't needing a tune up and filters replaced?

yes, you will benefit from swapping in 4:56's with 33's. besides having better acceleration and better gas mileage because the engine wont have to work as hard to move the truck it will also be better on your drive train, especially your transmission. gears are often the most overlooked factor when people put on larger tires but its easily the most important factor IMO.

maybe go to a 4.27 gear, then get a happy medium. The last thing you want is to be humming down the road ad 3.5k rpm! lol

Going from stock size tires with a 4:10 ratio to 33's and 4:56's will put the truck back almost to stock final drive ratio. I went from 4:10's to 4:56's when I went up to 33's and I run in the stock RPM ranges at cruising speed. The SOHC is more efficient in the higher RPM range anyways.

I know many have said that the sohc does better at higher rpms, whats the best crusing highway rpm for best gas mileage. and my vote is to just save your money for now and see how the 4.10's do with the 33's. most say they are fine but worse comes to worse, if you dont like it than move up to 4.56's ya know.
