Found an old AMP in my garage :) need help?
While cleaning out the garage tonight I came across an old amp i had in my F150 years ago. I have no doubt it still works and would like to put it to use!
Its an AutoTek Street Machine SX2150 300w. I am looking for suggestions on a good economic Sub and enclosure to pair with this amp. Its been years since I have done stereo stuff so I am asking you stereo guru's for some input. Im not looking for top qualtiy just a little bang for the best buck..... http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/y...-20-02_148.jpg http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/y...-20-27_661.jpg |

Re: Found an old AMP in my garage :) need help?
I can make one and have in the past but this go around i was more leaning towards something simple. There is a local shop around here that packs a type s in box that they make themselves I was thinking about it but IDK. I just need a refresher course on all the lingo..2ohm/4ohm, dual coil, etc. basically just need to know what single sub can be paired with this particular amp and perform right.

a 10 inch mtx, xplod, or pioneer would work good. i had an xplod 10 and it bumped

those were my very first subs...when i started out i didn know much about car audio let alone how to properly tune an amp so i blew them within 6 months... but they did hit hard... anything you put in a truck will bump for the simple fact that its basically a box inside a box(the cab), instead of a box inside a trunk. i bet if u install the subs and wiring and everything and took it to them they would tune it no problem and you would have any problems...im a bigger fan of JL or hertz audio but thats a bit more high end stuff

Re: Found an old AMP in my garage :) need help?
this is a pretty good find a pre maxsonic autotek. This amp unlike the new stuff is actually underated. I believe the run at 2 ohms so if your running one sub u want dual 4 ohm coils. U id get a 500 watt quality sub or 800 watt lesser quality sub. audioque has some nice subs on their website that are very good quality. If you want to spend less kicker cvr is always a safe bet.

Nice^ I honestly cant remember what i had hooked up with this amp lol I think i had 2 JL w0's on it in my F150 and it slammed. Could i run 1 W0 in a box similar to what i posted above with this or would that be too much power? maybe a W3?
