Inches from fender
Hey guys, i measured from my fenders to the ground and the front was 29 1/2 inches and the rear was 30 inches.
It's a 2wd and I noticed a couple days ago that the previous owner cut 2 of the leaf springs out and I'm assuming maybe some of the front coils. If I was to put the stock leafs and springs back in, how much do you think it would raise it back up? Right now it has 18" wheels, but I'm wanting to get 15" wheels and at least 30's on it. Any help would be really appreciated. |
Re: Inches from fender
I think my stock front end was ~ 32" on a '99 XLT. I'll try and check to be certain. My stock rear was ~ 33"
I don't know how much of a difference it would make, or if it would work for your truck, but if you're looking to get 30's in there why not try a Explorer/F-150 coil spring in the front? If the spring is the right diameter, I can only imagine that will lift the front a bit. :) |
Re: Inches from fender
I imagine it would!! lol
Just hoping I can get it back to stock size for now so I don't have too much of a gap with 30's. |
Re: Inches from fender
Yeah, I understand. Though, 30's might look a bit squashed up in there. if your 99 Sport is anything like mine I had stock 27" (225/70/15) and I'm adding spacers in the front so that I can get 30"-31" (depending) in there without looking squashed. IMHO.

Re: Inches from fender
Yeah, if I can get stock springs and leafs i'll probably do the same.
I'll probably just do the spacers and coils at the same time. |
Re: Inches from fender
Cool. Good luck with it all!

Re: Inches from fender

|
Re: Inches from fender
No, mine doesn't have torsion bars.
