My dad has ran Interstate for years in his current van and previous ('97 GMC Safari and '90 Chevy Astro respectively) And he abuses the shit out of it. He once responded to the hall for a fire and left in the rig forgetting the lightbar on the van was still on. He came back and it still fired off. (2-55watt Halogen Bulbs) In my Ranger i have a DieHard battery. So far it's pretty good, left my CB on and a week later went back and the engine still fired off. Our Mechanic swears by Interstate though.

You get what you pay for most times. Interstate makes good batteries

consumer reports said walmarts maxx batteries are a great buy & last a long time. I have been using them since I read that. Have had great luck. I used to buy diehard and seem to have just as much luck with walmart.

If you live near a Costco, their batteries got a rave review from Consumer Reports. They are reasonably priced and my 4 y.o. Is still performing perfectly.

They sell the Kirkland brand.

This. Get the longest warranty and kill it before the warranty expires. I've been doing it for ages!

Get the cheapest one with a decent warranty (2-3 years)

Go online with a coupon code (Right now Advance Auto Parts and Pep Boys have online coupon codes for 20-25% off...) Order online, pickup in store hours later.

Current coupon codes:

Advance: P20 (20% off all orders)
PepBoys: SWING25 (25% all orders over $100)

I got my batt for $86 installed at Pepboys. Optimas are nice and all, but they fail too...

I buy Costco Batteries too. They just switched over to Interstate batteries. Group 58 is $64 with a 42 month warranty . A good deal.
