Towing Question
 

I have a 2000 Ranger with the 3.0 engine and 4-speed automatic transmission with 125k on the clock. I'm considering renting/borrowing a box cargo trailer to move with. The trip will be about 900 miles, no mountains to speak of, in September.

The truck is in great shape mechanically. The listed towing capacity is 5,320 lbs. and I estimate that the fully-loaded trailer will weigh approximately 3,000 lbs. Should I worry about my transmission burning out, or is it tough enough for the job?
