Faded Ford Oval?
 

The emblem on my tailgate looks faded on the right side of it. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a way to fix it without buying a new emblem? Here's a pic to show you what I mean.

It's actually coming apart... the blue paint stuck to the backing better than it did to the clear on top.

With that type of oval, there isn't much hope for repairs.

Check with Clinton here, I'm sure he can find a good used one for you.

Hey once buggman get me my emblems, I can sell you mine. I have the same truck and the tailgate emblem is good

I probly should've taken the picture different because its an 05 tailgait with the big emblem in the middle. Any different?

I could only tell ya to get a new one. I have heard the big ones fall apart easily

I've seen someone on here fix up one of those emblems before. Well I think she actually repainted it and made it a different color. It looks a little different, but it looks bada$$, you could try to follow. I think she said she used nail polish remover to get it down to the chrome. Then she taped off what she wanted to keep chrome and painted the rest. It looks pretty tight with raised chrome lettering. I know it's not a direct fix, but if ya got no other choices maybe it'll help.

Mine were like that when I bought my truck used. I am going to try to take it apart if I can, sand the blue color off completely and then repaint it gunmetal grey to match my truck.
