MPG question.

So, my last tank of gas I got about 300 miles, about average for my ranger.

317miles /20gallons = Almost 16mpg.

But I was thinking, my speedometer is about 4-5 mph slow, (ex - Going 64, shows 60) Meaning, the truck thinks I am going slower, and then traveling less distance? My miles would be a little behind too, correct?

Meaning...I have better MPG that it shows?

Re: MPG question.

Yeah, and that would be fine with me, because...more MPG the better.

And less miles on the truck the better, haha.

haha i know right, i got the truck with a little bit more miles than i wanted so i dont drive it crazy but it should last me a long time. i also want to drive it a little bit on the highway but i will get better mpg but the highway gets me more miles, but i still save money with going highway cus of mpg even though its more miles

You have a gps to get the miles, might show how far off your speedometer is at the same time.

Re: MPG question.

Had to stop using the stock speedo and installed the gps in the dash, heck of a difference between the two. The only problem is when you got crappy reception after turning it on and knocks the mileage off for the first five minutes of driving.
