No start
I parked my 01 ranger, 3.0, auto. for 2 months. Now it will not start turns over good and strong. I checked the fuel rail valve and have no fuel pressure or no fuel spiting out of it anyway. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks TG

Re: No start
so no fuel pressure when the key is on?
my first thought is that a rat chewed through the wires going to the fuel pump, since it's been sitting for a while. is there power to the pump? or do you hear it when you turn the key to Key On Engine Off? |
Re: No start
Check the inertha switch under the carpet or kick panel on the passenger side.

Re: No start
I cant hear the pump turn on and it was running fine when I parked it. I guess I need to drop the tank is there anything else I should look at Before I drop the tank. I am looking for inertha switch now. thanks

Re: No start
Pull the bed off it is easier than pulling your fuel tank from under the truck. There are like six bolts in the bed and then three screws that hold the filler neck to the bedside and then you can lift the bed to gain excess to the fuel pump area.

Re: No start
How do you tell if the inertha switch is on or off

Re: No start
If the button pushes down and stays there, it was tripped.
