"02" to "04" Turn Signal Lever Swap

Anyone know if they are interchangeable? I can't count the number of times I have turned on the wiper/washer with my knee. I think on "02" and older they were dipped down, and on the newer years they rose up. I did a search and somebody was asking about this, but nothing was resolved.

2004 will not work, ford completely changed the wiring set-up starting in 2004. they will not interchange. not only that but on a 2004 there are less detents for the delay wipers compared to the older ones

I was hoping that would not be the answer, but i am not surprised. This is one of the stupidest designs. It is a knee knocker. It is not so bad now, I have an automatic. My last one, a 2000, was a manual. If I was making a left turn and downshifting I would cancel the signal when clutching. I guess i will live with it then. Thanks for the response.

i do know what you mean, my grandpas 98 is the same way and with that being a reg cab i can't move the seat back far enough. my 03 was an extended cab so that was a little better
