lower balljoint question?

2010 2.3 stick reg cab XL COIL SPRING SUSPENSION...

WHEN pressing in new OEM FORD balljoints does the rotation/orientation matter?

If not i will press them in with boot clamp ends facing rear of the ranger.....

Im going OEM because the stockers have lasted well over 200 thousand miles. Yea yea!!!

Installed a new OEM lower balljoint with a new OEM LOWER BJ NUT (NOT INCLUDED)on my 2010 2.3 stick XL with a rentable press (23 piece) from advance carquest and it was an easy job for the average joe. Also installed 2 new upper OEM ARMS.If i can do it you can to !! 1st time ever doing it. JOB IS MORE MENTALLY INTIMIDATING than what it actually is. The OEM LOWER BJ comes with a plastic cover so when you press it in it protects the boot. I greased the hole a little and let the press do the job !! And i. Did no stinking alignment AND IT DRIVES STRAIGHT.

LOWER OEM BJS FOR THE WIN !!! STOCKERS LASTED 244 thousand miles !!! SCREW MOOG !!

----------

Whatever you do make sure you got a plan to press in new ones or else youre screwed with no truck to drive

It depends on the brand and type; i.g. MOOG has a problem solver version which has a dot marking that is supposed to face inward of the control arm. I would lend that to belief that the ball joint doesnt or may not exactly have a full 360* of full rotation and that because of the problem solver fix, maybe a gate like orientation.

Re: lower balljoint question?

Pump a little grease into the new ball joint and watch where the old grease escapes. They probably want the joint oriented a certain way to prevent excess grease from being ported directly onto the brake rotor.

I USED OEM LOWER BJ for the WIN. IF the OEM lower BJ lasted for 220K plus miles it is good in my book.

Easy to do lowers with the right press.
