1999 Ranger V6 3.0 Going crazy
 

Howdy folks, new here and have a serious problem with my Ranger.

Driving down the road, all was good until...

Truck started beeping but no engine light came on. Speedometer was jumping though my actual speed was only decreasing. Transmission began to slip badly.

This happens at highway and low speeds

Exhaust smelled pretty rich when I got out of the truck.

If you guys or gals have any suggestions, I’d sure appreciate it.

Sounds like a wiring short/open issue. I would start with wiggle test all the power and grounds, starting with the ignition key switch...

Time to finish it off.. rag in the gas tank and light it up..!

Does the truck start up still? idle?
