Hi guys
I am a 45-year-old woman that has always taken pride in the fact my father taught me to do the work on my vehicles. At 16 my dad helped me replace a clutch and rebuild the transmission in a car I had just purchased. My father could tell me what was wrong with a car over the phone but he has passed away now 6 years ago today. And I am facing a problem I cannot figure out so please help.
About 2 weeks ago my 1999 ford ranger statted running hot on the way to work I went to pull off and heard a loud noise the hose between the thermostat and the radiator busted. So I replaced the thermostat and the hose. Every sinve it has been running hot everytime I drive 4 miles. I flushed the radiator and sprayed water through to make sure the system was not blocked anywhere. I noticed when it overheats the overflow is filling up and today I went out to make sure water is flowing when I took the radiator cap off and started the truck the water showed no sign of movement. Since then I read it doesn't show movement till the thermostat opens so I am going to recheck that. I need to add the day it originally overheated it was 18 degrees. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like your radiator is clogged any rust come out when you flushed it?
Also it could be a blown head gasket, that would explain the high enough pressure to blow a radiator hose. Is the runoff clean ?does it bubble when the truck is running? Does it smell like exhaust?
